TPBOC Sponsors ‘Commitment to a Cure’ Gala

First Foundation Inc. CEO Scott F. Kavanaugh

The Private Bank of California recently sponsored the 25th Annual Commitment to a Cure 2012 Awards Gala held at the Beverly Hills Hotel and benefiting the Arthritis Foundation. The event honored actor, producer and humanitarian Danny Glover and Scott F. Kavanaugh, CEO of First Foundation Inc. and Chairman of the Board and CEO of First Foundation Bank. Many celebrity guests attended to show their support for the Arthritis Foundation, including Malin Akerman, Vanessa Hudgens and Christopher Meloni of Law and Order: SVU fame. Guests were also treated to a special live acoustic performance from the band Plain White T’s.

One of the many highlights of the evening was when Rhiannon Carter, a 9-year old girl, spoke about her struggles with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis since she was a toddler.  Ever since she was introduced to the Arthritis Foundation, her life has improved for the better. She now attends the annual summer camp program where she gets to meet kids with the same issues.

This year’s gala was the biggest money maker for the foundation for the entire U.S.  The event raised approximately $940,000 versus $600,000 last year. Funds raised at the event support research and vital programs to improve the lives of the 300,000 children and 50 million adults who suffer from arthritis, the most common cause of disability.

The Private Bank is proud to continue to support the Arthritis Foundation and its commitment to raising awareness and reducing the impact of arthritis – a serious, painful and unacceptable disease that robs people of living life to its fullest.
