Reasons Why Branding Plays A Vital Role In Your Marketing

Your brand is your most important asset. It links your product/service to your customers and tells them what you promise and what you stand for. Due to technology and globalization, consumers now have more product/service choices than ever before! On top of this, social media has greatly altered the relationship between brands and consumers. Now, the power to define and control a brand is shifting from businesses to individuals.

Here are a few examples of how to establish your brand through other areas of marketing, obtained by HubSpot article titled, ‘7 Reasons Branding & Design Play a Vital Role in Your Marketing:

Brand Style Guide

Brand style guides are crucial in your companies branding process. Once your brand establishes a unique style and differentiation, it is important to maintain that specific style and branding consistency. With a brand style guide, you can help make everyone in your company look professional, even those non-brandy and non-designery people. Use your brand style guide within all creative collateral and communication elements like blog posts, templates, presentations…everything! Establishing what’s expected and giving employees the tools to re-create these elements helps reinforce and maintain your brands new image.

Presentation Templates

Having one template for all of the presentations your employees deliver is one of the best things to come out of a branding department. Think about your sales people, for example. Instead of having them spend countless of hours in PowerPoint trying to put a presentation together for an upcoming pitch, they just plug in the template, add any additional information and they are finished! Now they have a well-branded presentation that took them maybe 30 minutes to create. Not only does it make your company look more professional but it also proves to be a much better use of time than trying to design a presentation from scratch.

Social Media Consistency

When using social media as a marketing tool for your company, it is important to cross-promote your different social media presences. In other words, ask followers on your twitter page to ‘like’ your Facebook page, recommend fans on your Facebook page to join your circles on Google+ and vice versa. If you can create a consistent experience across all your social networks, that task is made much easier and more pleasant for your social connections. Plus, if the user stumbles upon your Facebook page when they were looking for something else, they’ll remember who you were because of recognizable cues. Afterall, branding is all about recognition and in this case, a bigger social reach too.

Taglines & Messaging

Iconic taglines, like Nikes “Just Do It!” are recognizable to people of all ages. It’s simple, easy to remember, and evokes that feeling of “motivation” and “confidence” they want associated with their brand. Creating a tagline for your own company can be quite challenging, but if your branding geniuses can create a tagline that makes your audience think of you first, before anyone else in your industry, you’ll reap the benefits in new customers and customer retention for years to come.
